STAY CALM

If you experience some sort of dental accident, the best thing you can do is to stay calm. While you may feel inclined to panic due to the pain and stress of an injury, you can take comfort knowing it can be treated, and our team is here to help get you back to a healthy, pain-free smile.

REDUCE BLEEDING

Once you’ve gained control of the situation, take assessment of your injury. If you’re experiencing any bleeding, place a strip of gauze on the site of the injury and apply pressure with your by biting down on the gauze.

CONTROL SWELLING

Over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help to temporarily reduce pain and swelling. However, steer clear of any blood-thinning medications like aspirin. An ice pack or cold compress can be applied to the cheek near the affected area to help reduce pain and inflammation.

What forms of payment are accepted?

When can I start using my membership?

Your membership is effective immediately!

How do I schedule my preventive care?

Simply call our office and set up an appointment for yourself or your family members.!

How can I use my Member Exclusive discount for restorative, elective or cosmetic treatment?

Simply schedule an appointment with our office and be sure to tell us you’re a member. When you arrive, we’ll make sure your membership is “current” and you will be eligible for instant savings off our regular fees.

How do I know if I need Perio membership?

If you’re a current patient, please contact us to confirm you’re on Perio Maintenance. If you are a new patient, we will make a recommendation after your initial exam.

What happens if I miss an appointment?

It will be your responsibility to reschedule. Please see our office policy regarding no-shows and last minute cancellations.

Can I add members to my account?

Absolutely! Your entire family can join.

Can I transfer my membership to another dentist?

Your club membership is solely with our office and as such is non-transferrable. If you move to another area, you may cancel your membership at any time.

How can I check on the status of my account?

Login to your Member Portal and look under Account Members. You’ll see the status of each member above his/her name.

Can I change or update my billing information?

Yes! Simply login to your Member Portal and click “Edit Your Payment Method”.

How do I cancel my membership?

Login to your Member Portal and click the “Remove” button for each member you’d like to cancel.

If I cancel, can I get a refund on my membership?

No. Refunds will not be provided for dues paid under any circumstances, including failure to schedule and maintain appointments.

How much do I pay to sign up for my club membership?

You’ll pay only the Lifetime Activation fee to join. This fee includes your first month’s membership dues.

Can I prepay my membership fees?

Memberships are currently month-to-month only.

Dr. Joseph Smillie

A native of Florida, Dr. Joseph Smillie stayed in the Sunshine State for undergrad, receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Dental Medicine. His dream had always been to focus on the medical field, but a lecture at the University of Florida prompted him to choose dentistry. Dr. Joseph Smillie realized that he could touch the lives of many different people with a variety of needs as a dentist, and this was a major draw for him. In his spare time, Dr. Smillie enjoys fishing or playing a round of golf as well as spending quality time with his wife; his kids, James and Harper; and his dog, Roshe. Dr. Joe is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Volusia Flagler Dental Association, Volusia Dental Academy, and is a Certified Invisalign and Implant provider. Today, he is happy to provide the best possible dental care for anyone who enters his practice.

Dr. Helen Smillie

Dr. Helen was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She later moved to Ormond Beach with her family. She attended Spruce Creek High School here in Port Orange, where she completed the International Baccalaureate program. She then attended the University of Florida where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She also attended Barry University, where she received her master’s degree in biomedical sciences. She decided to pursue a career in dentistry after growing up being very self-conscious of her smile and seeing how confident she felt after having her bite corrected. She went on to study at Nova Southeastern University, where she received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine. It was there that she met her future husband, Dr. Joe

Dr. Helen is an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Volusia Flagler Dental Association, Volusia Dental Academy, and American Academy of Facial Esthetics. She is also a Certified Invisalign, Botox, and Dermal Fillers provider. Dr. Helen is a caring and compassionate doctor who enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially cosmetic dentistry and Botox and Dermal Fillers treatment. Dr. Helen strives to provide her patients with only the best care through a comfortable experience.
